Many people do not realize that coffee trees product a fruit called a coffee cherry, and when it is ripe it goes from green to bright red.
The coffee fruit can be eaten, and is sweet, but most people never experience them because the fruit cannot travel far without spoiling.
The “green” coffee bean is inside. Once the coffee beans are cleaned and dried, they can be stored for long periods of time, and then roasted when you are ready to make your own coffee.
